This is a hands on 'Ziploc Bag' germination investigation with all lab journal pages included.
You will need to provide Ziploc Bags, Seeds, Paper Towels, and Tape. Students will germinate a seed using a Ziploc bag. They will test the variables of water and/or sunlight. This is fascinating for students because they see the whole process because there is no soil involved!
Lab pages can be printed as a stand-alone lab book for the unit OR as 'easy to cut' pages designed to insert directly into composition notebook journals. With this purchase you get the Complete Lesson Plan, Seed to Sprout Cover Page, Vocabulary Lab Pages including the words variable, seed, germination, sprout, stem, leaf, bud, root, and a blank page to add your own words, Lab Design Page, Observation Pages, Data Collection Page, and Vocabulary Card Matching Game.
This lab is directly correlated to the Next Generation Science Standard NGSS 2-LS2-1 Plan and conduct an investigation to determine if plants need sunlight and water to grow. [Assessment is limited to testing one variable at a time]
