Students should have prior knowledge of the American Revolution and Primary Resources. The first page teachers a little bit about Sam Adams and a quick review of primary and secondary resources. Students will then annotate using highlighters, pens and/or pencils the article by Sam Adams. I usually do this as a class and also have students model annotating under the doc cam as well. Once they are finished, they will be assigned a partner. The partnerships will each have an assigned role in participating. Once done the last question can gear the class up for a debate about being a loyalist or a rebel.
