PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity guides students through an independent (or small group) reading of a primary source. Students will analyze excerpts from the National Organization for Women's 1966 Statement of Purpose (available for free on the National Organization for Women's site) by answering guiding questions and annotating the text. I designed this activity to help my 7th graders interact with a difficult text and learn directly from the past. This could also act as a formative assessment or homework for older or more advanced students.
