This is a primary source of the week station. This can be used at a content-area station. It encourages students to look closely at items and decide what the item is, who would have used it, and why.
Some example primary source items could be: documents like the Declaration of Independence, Preamble, Gettysburg Address, etc; Artifacts from history such as a quill pen, antique tools or books, fabric, clothes, hat, etc. It can be a physical item or a picture of an item from a historical time. You could even include research books that correlate with the items for students to refer to.
