Product Description
This handout is about the experience that several individuals had regarding the Trail of Tears. I created it from an internet source called Digital History. Students can either use the primary source readings that I included (Pages 1 & 2) or use the website to complete the graphic organizer (Page 3). Students will learn about the hardships and difficulties of the journey based on various perspectives.

Page 4 is a Thomas Nast cartoon entitled "Move On!", in which students have to read about the cartoon and the importance of hats on individuals in cartoons. Then students have to discuss the meaning of the cartoons in regards to the plight of Native Americans.
