PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

My students are always fascinated by foreign languages and that is almost what writing from the days of slavery sounds like. In this activity, students will translate slave ads (a primary source transcribed from the Virginia Gazette) and answer text-based questions related to their translations. A variation on the basic activity is included as well as an answer key.
