Let your pre-k and primary students practice drawing lines! For young students in primary or pre-k as well as for students who are adapted and need help moving from scribbling to lines that are more clear. You can use this for the whole class or for those who need adapted work.

Included in this FREEBIE are 3 sample pages from the full booklet which you can purchase. It also has a sample lesson plan and an About the Book page.

-Lesson Plan for student work book
-2 student examples to use as a hook or for your knowledge
-STUDENT ART BOOKLET: A variety of pages of trace lines, trace shapes, and whistling trace line pages for you to use. Includes a title page and a FREE DRAW page. Some pages are of different versions to help suit specific student needs and interests. View them in the PREVIEW.

Why this book was created:

This book was created because I had a need for it in my kindergarten art class. All my kindergartens were excelling, except for two- one who is autistic and one who was much younger and was struggling to get past the scribbling stage of his creative process. Both are interested in cars, trains and rockets so I created worksheets that interested them to draw their focus to their sheets.

Student Work Book:

You can print and photocopy the pages of the student work book double or single sided and staple them into a work book. The first page is the title page where students can write their name and draw their own lines. Alternatively if you do not like a work book format, simply photocopy each handout that corresponds to the lesson plans as handouts and have the students write their names on the back.

NOTE: Due to different student interests, there are different versions of some of the pages. You can either hand out separately and let them CHOOSE which page they like, or CREATE CUSTOM Booklets for the students (cars for boys, flower for girls, or maybe a mix depending on their interests...)

Art Book Suggestion:

You can also photocopy the work book, hole punch and put the booklets into duo tangs for the students. I sell other units and lessons as well which can be purchased and put into the duo tang with this work book. At the end of the year, your students will have a collection of art that their parents will keep for years to come. As well, they can go back into the pages and view how much they have improved.
