This is a quick ssessment tool that you can use at the end of an introductory lesson on primary and secondary sources.
In my class, I use the following definitions:
-Primary source: a document or physical object that was written or created by someone who was present during the historical event or era. (Original)
-Secondary source: a document that was created by someone who was NOT present during the historical event or era; it was created after the fact and may use primary sources. (Copy or duplicate of the original. Not the original)
