#Primping their ideal super heroine and the qualities that make her #PrimpWorthy. We will assess these qualities as a group to see how they apply to a healthy self esteem. The activity will conclude with the girls freestyling a story as a group about a confident young girl that saves the day! They can even use the superheroines they created in their freestyled stories. Detailed directions below.
Original Activity Name: ‘Masks’
Impact: 'Masks' is a good discussion starter on self-image and self- worth. This activity is revised for #PrimpIt workshop Activity. Its purpose is to asses what a healthy self esteem or self image is in regards to representation.
KEY: Fun and inactive activity best used in an established group where the young people are comfortable and at ease with each other.
Tools: You will need crayons or paints, markers, possibly scissors and a card or paper for this activity.
Procedure: Give each young person a piece of paper. Ask them to color the figure on the paper and use their imagination. Each young person is then asked to answer the questions on the paper. This handout represents what they think people see/know/believe about them (or their superheroine) i.e. on the outside and qualities they would like to express.
