This is a one page foldable that covers the Principles of Art. There's a lot of different versions of the principles of art/design out there - these nine are what is covered in the curriculum documents that are in my area. The principles covered are (in no particular order) - balance, pattern, movement, rhythm, variety, contrast, unity, proportion, and emphasis.
I have provided three copies of the foldable in one zip file.
1. Student version without answers/examples with fold lines.
2. Student version without answers/examples without fold lines (this printed better on our photocopiers)
3. Teacher version with answers/examples without fold lines.
I have also included a one page sheet on how to fold the paper to get the the eight pages in the booklet.
This needs to be printed out on tabloid sized paper (11x17").
This would be useful with students as a review of the principles of design. You can either fold it first, and then fill in all the answers, or you can complete the entire sheet and then fold it (which is how I prefer to do it).
This is the partner to the Elements of Art Foldable that you can find in my other postings.
This document has been designed with 0.25 inch margins on all sides, and on all fold lines. It is important to make sure that your printer does not scale the document at all. Often when printing PDFs, many printers default to ‘scale to fit’. Please select ‘none’ for scaling (or printing at 100%) for best success for the folds.
