Product Description
These lessons will help students develop an understanding of the seven principles of art, learn the vocabulary surrounding each principle, and view photographs that successfully showcase each principle. Students will also get a brief history of photography from the 1900s to today.

Lessons include:

3. Dorothea Lange and the principle of balance.
4. Ansel Adams and the principle of rhythm.
5. The Civil Rights Movement and the principle of emphasis.
6. Photojournalists from 9/11 and the principle of movement.
7. Photographer JR and the principle of unity.
—Vocabulary words and definitions.
—Images and examples.
—Graphic organizers to help teach students the steps of describing, analyzing, interpreting, and judging images.
—Additional higher-level questions connecting students to the time period, photographer, and/or the artwork.
—Links to additional resources.
