PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This 5 page PDF is a set of half page worksheets (2 elements per page) covering 8 Principles of Design in a short, concise manner. Each Principle is explained, then space is given for students to demonstrate using each Principle in various ways. The back page has a handy "Let's Review" chart to provide a quick-access reminder.

The worksheets include the Design Principles: Balance, Contrast, Pattern, Proportion (Scale), Variety, Emphasis, Unity (Harmony), and Movement (Rhythm).

I created these worksheets for my junior high and high school students to put at the front of their art notebooks. We review the Elements and Principles at the start of each year, before moving onto their regular assignments and projects. They're also great as reference guides, for students to refer back to throughout the school year when they need a reminder.

I made this PDF in grayscale, with no color, so they're easy to print. The margins are set to .5" all the way around. Since all the Principles are covered in 5 pages, you can easily print back-to-back to save paper.

Be sure to check out my Elements of Art worksheets that tie along with this packet: Elements of Art: 1/2 Page Worksheets for Introduction and Review.
