This is a "Principles of Design" cut-and-paste handout activity that requires the use of magazines (or other printed material). I've incorporated these into Drawing and Design Classes for teaching the Principles of Design, or wherever a QUICK review of the Principles are needed. In Drawing Class, we usually create one per week, until all six are completed - Rhythm, Balance, Emphasis, Movement, and Unity- then we staple them together to create a packet. If time permits, we've even created a cover page for them. They can be displayed and critiqued, or projected on a screen using a document projector. I've found this to be a quick and easy way to introduce the Principles of Design without a lengthy project for each Principle, or fear of drawing ability. Requires scissors, glue sticks and magazines.
