I am sharing with you a board game I made to practice the use of 6 question words with
my ESL students.
To play the game you need to print a copy of this game (I laminate the copy to make it
more robust), some markers and a dice.
The question words we are practicing are:
The words are repeated throughout the board to ensure the students get plenty of
practice. The game is a simple board game where the students throw a dice to
move a marker around the board.
Before they land their marker on a new square they must make a question
with the question word shown on the place they are about to move to.
You can add your own rules!
I teach ESL to Spanish students and we alternate between ‘How’ translated
as ‘como’ and ‘cuantos’. Depending on the level of the student I will sometimes
say that questions cannot be repeated, or for lower level students will allow repetition.
I hope your students enjoy playing this board game!
