These colorful printable Counting Rods are designed in the style of cuisenaire rods, and can be used in many ways to help build understanding of numbers and how fact families work. As kids work and play with the rods they become familiar with numbers and patterns, and as a result, math can become less intimidating.
Two sets of rods are included - one set is full color, and the other has color outlines, which uses less ink to print but still produces colorful rods.
The rods are numbered from 1 to 20, with multiples of the smaller numbers included. I recommend laminating the rods to make them more durable; laminating also makes them easier to work with as they will lie flat.
There are 12 Activity Sheets included; most of the activities are fairly simple and will be easy for kids to understand and do successfully with a little critical thinking, and all of the activities are written using only addition.
These Counting Rods are basic tools that can be also be used for learning multiplication, division, and fractions. Some of those concepts are addressed in the activities (such as "find 3 of the same number that equal 12"), but they are not labeled as multiplication, etc.
