My books were created to help deliver entertaining print concept instruction. Using the funny puppy character, each book teaches a concept while also containing word patterns or phrases that are simple for early readers to practice reading. It is a great resource to use as part of a balanced language arts curriculum.
I use this book to teach my beginning readers the difference between question marks and exclamation marks. I introduce the book, read, and discuss. The kids love to hear me read “ruff?” in a question form. They really enjoy reading it themselves reading in silly question tones.
This book supports the kindergarten ELA common core standard of recognizing and naming punctuations. I am so happy to be able to share this resource that has been an enjoyable activity for my kindergarteners.
