This printable Christmas winter poem book is filled with thirteen poems. Includes five song poems, which are the lyrics to popular holiday songs. Also includes Twas the night Before Christmas, an acrostic poem, cinquian poem, haiku poem, and concrete poem. Many of the poems are quatrains strung together.
The poems have good examples of different rhyme scheme patterns such as AABB, ABCB, ABAB, and AAAB.
Alliteration, onomatopoeia, simile, metaphor, and personification can also be found in the poems.
Teachers can use poems as examples to teach different elements of poetry. Kids can color code different poetic devices in the poem book, and then complete the "Poetic Devices Scavenger Hunt" on pages 9-10. Scavenger hunts includes a search for figurative language and sound devices.
