Identifies 12 privileges that exist in our world. Each privilege is defined and paired with an example. The statements can be used as a paper strips one for each group, word list, put up as signs to move around and much more.
Ideas for Use:
• Cut up into strips and have student discuss in small groups and present their thoughts on the privileges (what surprised them, how often they think about this privilege, do they agree with this privilege in their school/community)
• Give students a famous person. Set these signs up around the room and have students collect Popsicle sticks, tags or some type of item for each privilege that famous person has. This can be followed up with a presentation or discussion.
• Set up a paper with 12 steps, have students place themselves on a step depending on how many privileges they have (this can be done individually), have students write a reflection on their step and how that might affect them in their lives.
