How many different ways can you combine your favorite shirts with your favorite pants? In this activity, students color their own shirts and ties to explore the concept of "combinations".
Note: According to mathematics definitions, in combinations, the order does NOT matter. Combination 1A is the same as A1, this would be "one combination".
They begin with just 2 shirts and 2 ties, then progress toward 5 shirts and 5 ties! They also explore the relationship between the number of shirts and ties to the total number of combinations!
