This worksheet addresses some common misconceptions and errors made when using probability.
Seven probability statements are incorrect. It is up to the students to figure out what mistakes were made, as well as try to understand why they were made. Then students are given a task to fix the problem, write a new statement that is true, or create a new, similar problem.
The worksheet can be used as a warm-up or given for homework.
It also works great for partner worksheets as in-class practice. Students quickly realize these are common errors, and many students have made the same mistakes before.
