My students LOVE this lesson every year!!!
This unit enables the student to utilize higher level thinking throughout several activities and in the culminating activity at the end. It is aligned with common core standards and thinking. It allows the students to explore the concepts of probability, apply what they observe and evaluate the information in different ways. It utilizes a student’s own creativity to create their own product with a rubric to keep them on track. In addition to the exploration and creation component for students, they will also be asked to use error analysis and evaluate their peer’s games for fairness. Once they determine how a game is unfair, they must use reasoning and problem solving to improve all player’s chances.
I included several activities for student exploration, as well as a quiz to assess the related vocabulary words. In addition to the game and activities I included, I also have Smartboard lessons available with extra games and activities to extend the learning. Message me if you want them!

Look in my store for the Smartboard lesson that goes with this!
