Students love to do activities that allow them to be up and moving around the classroom. The Probability Scavenger Hunt allows them to do just that! Each of the cards in this set provides the student with a scenario. The included Student Activity Sheet has the questions for the students to solve. The students will make their way around the classroom, looking for the cards and answering the questions.
The cards should be printed and laminated (if possible). The teacher or instructor will then hang the cards up around the classroom, usually in a random order. This make the hunt even more engaging. Students may work individually or in small groups to find all 20 cards and answer the questions. Each card acts as a separate question, so the number of cards used can be differentiated for each individual student.
The Student Activity sheet is double-sided and contains the 20 questions needed to complete the activity. Again, the number of questions can be modified to provide differentiation. The Student Sheet (in conjunction with the answer key) can serve as an assessment tool for both formative and summative assessments.
This activity serves as an excellent complement to Identifying Probability Task Cards
