This lesson has two simulation activities that could be used for 6th-8th grade but it is geared towards the 8th grade common core standards.
Students will explore how to conduct the simulation of an event that is not practical to conduct in a real-life situation.
Students will perform two simulation activities. The activities will be performed with a spinner. Students will find the chances of buying a box of candy bars containing a five-dollar bill. Spinner 1 is used for the first activity and Spinner 2 is used for the second activity. The activities will have similar events but different chances of winning. After conducting the simulation, students must determine which one has a more likely chance of winning.
