This large 69 page package includes three different probability practice activities, each with optional materials for differentiating to meet multiple ability levels. The animal theme is appealing and the game aspect creates a fun way to practice this skill! Included in this package are the following items:
Probability Language Game
A game to practice the terms certain, impossible, likely, unlikely and even chance. This game uses a spinner and game cards to identify situations matching the identified chances. Language Mats used in the game can double as focus posters when introducing the terms.
Probability Spinners Game
This is a matching card game, where players begin with seven cards and by drawing and discarding cards they attempt to match cards showing spinners with situation cards (example situation: The chance of spinning an elephant is 1/2). The spinner cards are divided into 2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 sections.
Probability Task Cards
This set of 48 cards can be used as a whole or broken into sets of 12 with differing levels as follows:
Cards 1-12 show three animals and require adding single digit numbers.
Cards 13-24 show three animals and require adding double digit numbers less than 20.
Cards 25-36 show four animals and require adding single digit numbers.
Cards 37-48 show four animals and require adding double digit number less than 20.
These cards are great for independent work in centers or for whole class activities like SCOOT. The task cards can also be purchased separately.
