PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

One of the ways to improve student learning is to use preset patterns or models to establish mathematical equations. Equation building help teachers focus in on process development, how the given information pieces relate to one another. It also gives the student the opportunity to mentally migrate through a plethora of cognitive challenges. Students become aware of the model and their usefulness in learning to recognize situations that seem perceptually different but are structurally alike. Over time the procedures become automatic and can be used to translate more difficult problems with the same rules and patterns. In most cases using these instructional methods can be used to improve student problem-solving skills significantly. These techniques can and should be incorporated successfully into daily instructional practice. These techniques, when used systematically, make it easier for students to look for patterns, make the necessary decisions, and plan accordingly.
