Product Description

Students practise problem solving with shape using reflective 24 hour times, properties of 2D shapes and investigating the number of squares on a whiteboard. The start of the lesson involves investigating symmetrical time displays. In the main phase students create and describe composite shapes using the correct vocabulary and work together to create several polygons and a circle from a jigsaw. In the plenary, students are challenged to find the total number of squares on a chessboard by investigating any patterns.
