Problem trails are a great way to get kids out of their seats and moving around the room while learning!
This problem trail focuses on simplifying expressions by combining like terms.
Eight problems are included in this activity. Post problems around the classroom for students to solve. They may work alone or with a partner. Students may start with any problem. They will answer the question and then follow the directions to the next location. By following the directions, they will eventually visit each question and the path will lead them back to where they started. Thus, if they end up where they started and visited each location, their answers must be correct. The self-checking aspect of this activity is great for students and teachers alike.
