This is a flipchart that has a problem of the day for the whole school year (177 days).
I have my students practice their handwriting and write one problem each day into their math journal and then solve it at the bottom. We share our findings after everyone is done, and they can tell others how they solved their math problem that day.
So many teachers have said how awesome they think this is and that I should put it on here, so here you go.
These problems do addition, subtraction, grouping, multiple sets, money, time, probability, unneeded information, and uses a UPSC problem solving mat later on in the problems.
The UPSC problem solving mat is Understand (Write the question and important information) , Plan (Make a plan on how you will solve it - draw, tally marks, numberline, etc.), Solve (Solve the problem using what you said in your plan box), Check (Check your answer with a different strategy and write a number sentence to go with it).
You can edit on this flipchart and change names of students in the problems, they love to see the problem of the day and see if they are the one that was chosen for the problem that day.
