Students evaluate their ability to learn something new two different ways. First they will try to learn using written instructions. Then they will learn using a how-to video. Finally, they will evaluate their own learning by comparing and contrasting, sharing out which way was more effective and why. This is a terrific activity for ESL students because it asks them to read, write, speak, and listen. Includes instructions and 5E lesson plan. BONUS: Day 2 Activity: Students write their own how-to instructions based on a YouTube video of their choice and then have classmates evaluate their clarity.
