Hello! Thank you for looking at Processing Varied Wh- Questions with Visual Supports: Motivating Themes
I created this lesson because my students were having difficulty responding to wh- questions after they were read a short paragraph. I wrote the paragraphs to contain high interest information and designed the short stories with specific wh- questions in mind. To complete these activities, I have found it helpful to read the story two times. As I am reading, I have the students point to target vocabulary in the pictures, engaging them. Then, I have my students place Bingo chips on the answers and we review them. I have my students respond in complete sentences containing the correct answer. As a quiz, I have them circle the correct answer independently. Finally, to ensure that they are learning the questions, I ask them each inquiry without the visual support.
