Product Markets are a great way to get students involved in economics and commerce. This includes the information sheet with specific guidelines on how students should approach the project, outlines the expectations for a complete product, and explains how the market will work at the end of the week. Plus, I have included a student product planning sheet and an easy interview rubric to be used at the market by the assessing teacher-so that students are held accountable down to the very last moment of the market unit. When I do this unit, I provide the students with the planning sheet one week-10 days in advance of the planned market day. Then, periodically, I will remind students to be working on their products. I give them 2 days in class to work on building products, and one day to design their sign. Then, the last day is used for the market team-wide (middle school).
