Description

What is a career portfolio and why are they important for high school students? How do I use career portfolios to prepare my students for life after high school? Where can I get career portfolio templates so that I can spend my time guiding students in college career readiness experiences rather than creating career portfolio templates myself?

Right here! Part of being prepared and ready for that next step is having experience, gathering good references, and developing a robust resume. Having a place to showcase those resume-building experiences is a great way to demonstrate college career readiness. Students can add all of their experiences in one place; right in this career portfolio template.

This editable digital career portfolio template includes all of the guiding materials that students need to create a professional portfolio to carry with them beyond high school. Students can keep this career portfolio to use, share, and modify indefinitely. All of the main components of a standard career portfolio are included.

Each section includes clear instructions. This resource requires no preparation on the part of the instructor. Students fill in the templates with their own information and experiences. They can then share the link with prospective employers or print their final product and add the pages to a physical binder.

"This is a great product to use with senior students who are preparing portfolios for future job search." - Mrs. LS (11th Grade)

The career portfolio is a Google Slides resource. Access to Google Apps is required. It is designed to be completed digitally, but you have the option to print if you wish. The portfolio can be assigned to students via Google Classroom where students can add and share content with you.

Note: This resource IS editable. You and/or students can change headers, add pages, reformat text, etc., to fit their needs.

This product includes:

  1. Instructions
  2. Table of contents - the digital version includes clickable links from the table of contents to corresponding slide numbers for quick and easy navigation.
  3. Editable and digital templates for all career portfolio sections including a cover page, resume, work sample pages, references, a philosophy statement, and more.
