This is an early elementary (k-2) proficiency based learning targets binder. Each page includes a space to put in your class list, 10 small boxes for each student to use to track progress, the learning target with a picture and what is expected to be proficient at a 3, 2 and 1. This is a tool that allows students to track their progress and take ownership of their own learning. The way I keep track of student progress is by having students color in squares based on where they are at for a given target. Students color red, yellow or green. Once a student gets 3 green for a target (which means they demonstrate proficiency 3 times) they receive a star sticker. At this point, the student begins or continues another learning target. This is a great system because at anytime students can check where they are at and what they need to be working on. This is a quick and easy way for the teacher to meet the needs of all students and to track individual and whole class progress.
