Here is a game to use with your programmable robots! I use this Visiting the Farm Game as a Makerspace Center with my K-2 students. We use the Bee Bot (TM) Programmable Floor Robots with the two transparent grids that come in the Bee-Bot Starter Kit. But, you can modify this game to meet the needs of your programmable robot.
My K-2 students have LOVED this Makerspace Center!
This simple game version is played in a series of rounds with two players. The goal of the game is to program the robot so that it lands on the item the student identifies. When the robot lands on the square, the player earns Honeycomb Point Cards.
An advanced version uses the brick wall cards which are obstacles that the students must program their robots to avoid when programming their sequence!
I've also included some examples of how my students have amazed me with devising their own challenges using the Bee-Bots.
The player with the most Honeycomb Points at the end wins the game.
I've found that printing the mat cards on regular paper to put under the mat is best. But, the Honeycomb Point cards are easier to handle if printed on cardstock.
This product includes:
1. Game Directions with Additional Challenge Ideas
2. 14 Farm themed mat cards to place under your transparent grid
3. Honeycomb Point cards
4. Brick Wall mat cards to place under your transparent grid for the Advanced version of the game.
