Introduce students to the temperance movement and background to why Americans were interested in making alcohol illegal. Go over the passage of the 18th Amendment and how it led to organized crime. For the activity, students go to different stations to look at the impact of prohibition and whether it was effective or not. Students go to stations including the effectiveness of prohibition, alcohol consumption, speakeasies, and more (5 stations total). Finally students write a response on the effectiveness of prohibition.
