This project based learning activity takes your students into the amazing world of the Amazon rainforest!
(Fun fact: The word "rainforest" in Amazon rainforest is rarely capitalized. The lowercase version of the word seems to be preferred by naturalists and scientists.)
Acting as field researcher, students will:
Order supplies from a supply catalog
Create a field journal
Map a hiking route
Pack a backpack for efficiency
Collect data on plants & animals at field research camps and "hikes"
Design an informational map
This product has 10 daily activities that lead the students through the process of organizing, planning, and participating in a research expedition in the rainforest. Each activity lasts at least an hour, but can be broken up into smaller amounts of time if needed.
