Product Description
A mindset is a terrible thing to waste. Now more than ever, there is a focus for working with students to build their social and emotional learning base, which includes developing growth mindsets. Intelligence is never fixed. Your brain can continue to grow, learn, and become stronger, you just have to train it. That’s why it is so important to have a growing mindset.

Make Your Mindset is a project based learning activity that asks students to work towards training and identifying factors that help growth mindsets by focusing on attitude, determination, and changing the way they view challenges. At the end of the PBL students will set their own goals, make a plan, and track/reflect progress for a goal of their choosing.

There are 21 activities (most are 1 page each) for students to complete. Each page involves an issue or topic they must solve, design, create, or research.

As students work through each page, they will make their own decisions and choose the outcomes based on information they learn. By the end, all students will have completed the project, but each version will be based on the creator’s imagination, creativity, and mindset.

8 Introduction
Students learn about the mindset project that they will be working on.

9 Brainstorm the mindset
Students write what they already know about mindsets.

10 Vocabulary
Students define mindset-related vocabulary terms.

12 Fixed Vs. Growth
Students use a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast fixed and growth mindsets.

13 Failures Seen
Students identify 3 times they have see failures, along with writing about the reactions, too.

14 What About
Students answer two pages worth of questions on FIXED and GROWTH mindsets. These will be longer response answers.

16 Turn Around Negative
Students will rewrite fixed mindset sentences/sayings to reflect a growth mindset.

17 Keep An Eye Out
Students look for instances around school where students/classmates are demonstrating growth mindsets. They can illustrate or write what they see.

18 A Story of Growth
Students reflect and write a story of a time that they showed a growth mindset.

19 Acrostics
Students create acrostics for the words: MINDSET, GRIT, GROWTH, and FIXED.

21 Power of Yet
Students write down things they currently can’t do, but want to be able to do in the future.

22 Head Space
Students design a head that is all about themselves; including what they like, character traits, and more.

23 Classroom Mindsets
Students describe what classrooms look like with fixed and growth mindsets.

24 Quotes
Students create their own quotes to reinforce powerful growth mindsets in the classrooms.

25 Building Up Others
Students write notes to other classmates identifying times when they’v showed a growth mindset.

26-36 Making A Plan
Students learn about a plan to develop and reach a goal that they have set This is a six-step, laid out on the following pages, to assist students.

27 Brainstorm
Students different goals that they set for themselves.

28 Pick Your Goal
Students pick a specific goal and answer questions about why it was picked.

29 Build A Plan
Students look at specifics of the goal such as time, materials, and main steps needed to reach it.

30 Step It Out
Students write the steps they will be taking to to reach their chosen goal.

31 Journal Entries
Students have journal entries to complete as they progress. They can write in them and track their progress. There are three pages included for this portion.

34 Evaluate and Reflect
Students will take a final look at their progress and decide where they want to go next. Also included are another two pages of reflections questions about their process and how they did.

All pages can be geared towards multiple grade levels, although for some younger students the teacher may need to give more explicit instructions.

Students may choose to use multiple resources to complete each page. They might even choose to work with a partner, but you get final say on that.
