-There are two budget choices: One has a budget of $200. The other is blank, so the teacher may choose the budget.
-There are two versions of advertisements. One includes decimals ($2.55) for upper grades. The other includes only whole dollar amounts ($3). Teachers may choose the version that fits their classroom best.
24 Food Fanatics
Students must create a menu for the party that includes appetizers, drinks, desserts, healthy choices, and even a main dish.
25, 26 Game Time
Students pick a game that the class will play at the party. It can be an oldie or something they created themselves. It includes the set-up and directions to play.
27 Party Layout
Students draw a diagram of the entire class party layout. They must include items purchased in their budget if they are large.
28 The Super Schedule
Students create a schedule for the party using information and ideas from earlier in the project.
Students use social media to share how the party is progressing.
30 The After Party
Students reflect and write about what they liked, what they would change, and challenges they face while planning a party.
As students work through each page, they will make their own decisions and choose the outcomes based on information they learn. By the end, all students will have completed the project, but each version will be based on the creator’s imagination, creativity, and knowledge base.
All pages can be geared towards multiple grade levels, although for some younger students the teacher may need to give more explicit instructions.
Students may choose to use multiple resources to complete each page. They might even choose to work with a partner, but you get final say on that.
