This is a great resource for districts, schools or educators that are trying to move toward a student-directed learning environment.
No prep, up to one year long, project-based learning (PBL) curriculum and PBL training guide! This product is a bundle of awesome PBL projects! It is also a guide/manual to help teachers move from lecture-based instruction (teacher-directed) to project-based learning (student-directed). The purpose of this product is to assist with the transition from teacher-directed classroom to student-directed classroom using project-based learning as the mechanism for doing so.
This package is designed to gradually acquaint instructor and student with project-based learning over the course of a year. The length of time per project varies based on individual skills, learning styles, class structure and depth of project. Some are designed to take longer than others. A good rule of thumb is that all but a couple of the more advanced projects at the end could take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. During that time, students could/should be working on more than one project at a time.
Students choose the project topic under a general project theme, develop a plan for the project, determine the outcome(s), and self-assess. All of the projects are relevant to modern day students, encourage student choice in topic and outcome, promote collaboration with community experts, integrate disciplines, ask students to develop authentic presentations and afford students the opportunity to self-assess and reflect on their work.
This product includes:
1. for teachers on how to gradually transform students into successful project-based learners. It works well as the curriculum for an advisory, a specific class or even as a supplement to a course rather than the entire curriculum.

a) Teacher guide with project details, materials needed, introductory discussion
questions and student-topic brainstorming activities.
b) Student guide including project details and expectations, final product options,
authentic presentation options, a task completion checklist, project challenge
options and a research guide template.
c) Community expert form.
d) Generic rubric to be used for any project.
e) Blank template for student-created rubrics (with word banks).
f) Blank project proposal sheet for more experienced PBL learner.
g) Personal project plan template that consists of goal-making, a project task list
and reflection questions.
The projects included in this bundle were designed to encourage students to become more independent, to be more active in their communities, to guide their own education, to be productive members of society, to be creative, healthy, problem-solvers, critical thinkers and lifelong learners.
