Product Description
Your students will love meeting the Design Team that will guide them through creating their own mansion! This project-based learning unit is perfect for your students to review Math concepts like Multiplication, Measurement, Area, Perimeter, and more!

Included are 13 lesson plans that meet NGSS and Common Core Math standards. The standards listed are 4th grade, but this unit is also perfect for grades 3-6. The activities are easily differentiated, so that you can skip lessons that your students may not be familiar with.
Also included is a series of engaging presentation slides to introduce each class and teach the concept/skill for that lesson. These slides match the included student booklet, which students complete throughout the unit. Pick and choose what booklet pages you feel will best fit your students' needs! Finally, for extension and a Language Arts connection, there is also a packet that includes writing prompts (with graphic organizers) and vocabulary organizers for students to use. One of the writing prompts is a self-assessment reflection. The booklet also has a certificate and scoring rubric at the end.

The entire unit is broken down into 4 sections:
Design a Mansion - students will learn about criteria/constraints, measurement, and scale to draw their mansion!
Build a Mansion - students will use their multiplication and area skills to choose a contractor!
Create a Mansion - students will use their multiplication, area, and perimeter skills to compare prices for flooring, paint, and more!
Sell a Mansion - students will design advertisements and compare offers to choose a buyer for their home!
Throughout the unit, students are also managing a budget and using their problem-solving skills to meet the criteria for the mansion.

Depending on how much time you have in your class period, and how many of the activities you choose to complete with your class, this unit can take 1-3 weeks to complete.
