Your students will experience school from the “other side of the desk” by creating a math quiz, giving it to their friends, grading it, finding equivalent fractions, decimals, and percents, then analyzing the data. My students love this project because they are fascinated by what teachers do!
This document is a project based learning assignment split into six tasks. Each task will take approximately one class period, so this project will last about seven days. Each task is great opportunity for a mini lesson. Students will design a quiz and answer key, and share it with their classmates. After grading their quiz, students will act like teachers by scoring the quizzes, writing a fraction, and converting it to a decimal and percent. Then students will analyze their "class" data by finding mean, median, mode, and range.
Includes: Cover page, Common Core State Standards, Vocabulary page, 6 tasks (materials and directions), reflection page, cumulative review, and assessment
This is an engaging project that is aligned to 5th grade Common Core standards. The only materials you will need besides this PowerPoint is plain paper for students to complete each task.
