This packet has students survey the school to see which kinds of snacks they would be most likely to buy at a concession stand or general store. (Or their is data provided if you would rather.) Then students use that data to make graphs and determine which items would be best to buy for the store. There are questions provided for each graph to help guide student thinking. After this has been done students will then research and price compare the items they have decided to buy at different stores. Students will also have to figure out how much each individual item cost and will determine how much to charge. There is a rubric provided for students to make marketing items to go with the store.
You can decide if you are really going to have the store at a school event or not. If you are not really having it you could make a diarama of a store using a check-list provided.
This can be DI by groups student graph. They could just graph a class, a grade level, or the whole school depending on their level.
