Product Description
Task: You are a stand up comedian that has finally caught a big break! You are going to be given five minutes to perform a stand up comedy routine on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Before you prepare for your big performance, you must write out a routine that can last the entire five minutes. Since comedians are expected to use figurative language, you must find a way to use several different types of figurative language.

*Note: With this assignment, students can earn 10% of their grade by performing their routine or by having their writing critiqued. For the performances, I typically allow students the choice to perform it live or record the performance so that it can be viewed by the class. One student even did his routine via a voiced-over recording of his Minecraft game with him doing jokes and stunts within the game!
