Looking for that perfect project to keep your kiddos occupied while you pull small group? These project based learning activities allow you that uninterrupted time while the rest of your class is working together to solve problems on their own. Each station includes a list of materials and specific student expectations. I printed my PBL's on colored cardstock, slid each one into a page protector and they are ready to go. With 14 different options I can change them out as often as like. The unit also includes a teacher timeline that I have found to work great with my kiddos. The best part is, they are completely editable. Change what you want to make each PBL fit your class needs.
You will need an ongoing supply of various craft supplies, as well as a bucket or crate to store materials for each working PBL project.
Build a 3D Playground
Open a Theme Park
Complete a Puzzle
I Want to Own an Ice Cream Shop
Plan a Spirit Rally for Your School
Design your own fashion line
It’s a Zoo in Here
Publish a Children’s Book
Plan a Road Trip (current instructions require "Highlights" series but this can be modified to fit your materials on hand)
From Here to There: A Bird’s Eye View
The unit also includes a group assessment that can be used at the conclusion of each project. I use this opportunity to restock the crates for their next round.
Enjoy... and prepare to be amazed with what your students create when given a bucket of supplies and the freedom to explore!
