This is an AWESOME project for your students that will push them in unexpected ways. With a focus on real world events and Latin American culture, it demands creativity, cooperation, consideration, critical thinking, moral judgement, budget balancing, writing, reading, and presentational skills.
Students are to be separated into 'countries' with elected officials. This unit is to be introduced with Natural Disasters vocab and a study of historical events such as Hurricane Maria and Earthquakes in Mexico. Students will receive packets describing natural disasters in their country and they will have to work as a team to resolve the issues.
