Even though the Incas only used quipus to record information, pretend that Quechua was a written language and that the Incas were so technologically advanced for their time, that they even had email! Students can choose to be Francisco Pizarro (Spanish conquistador) or Atahualpa (Inca emperor).
Students will complete and turn in the following components:
1. Email address and password of the historical figure.
2. A print-out of the historical figure’s email inbox, including the subject lines and senders.
3. One email written by a historical person to Atahualpa or Francisco Pizarro about the Spanish conquest.
The resource includes instructions, a sample, a student reflection, a rubric, an email template and an inbox template.
