Product Description

Hello fellow educator!

Thank you very much for clicking on this product. The DNA databanks PBL is a project I designed after taking the "Authentic connections for PBL" course by Eduspire and Wilson College. I had some experience with PBL in the past, but I believe this project was the most authentic I have ever made.

The project is very specific to Guatemala (the country I currently teach at) and the political circumstances at the time. However, I believe it can give you great resources (handouts/worksheets/rubrics) and ideas as to what YOU can do in your own community.

This was part of my DNA and genetics unit and I can tell you my kids LOVED it. The project not only makes connections to the community, but it allowed my students to see how, in real life, EVERYTHING connects and science can be applied to anything.

Overall, I hope it can show you what PBL seeks when it comes to authenticity. Most importantly, my students have finally stopped asking "why do we have to learn this?" (LOL)
