This is my cumulative grade 6 project on flight. This project is awesome! I absolutely love doing it with my grade 6 MFI students. It keeps them happy, engaged and constantly learning.
In this project, students are to research a pre-existing flying machine (airplane or helicopter). They will use this model as an inspiration to building their very own airplane/helicopter. They will also be required to address the characteristics of air, the forces of flight, and the Bernoulli principle when building their machine.
This document includes: a description of the project, a clear checklist of what the students are supposed to do, a set of 12 reflection questions, a suggestion list, a rubric, and notes for teachers.
