This is a Promethean ActivInspire activity asking students to segment words pictured into onset (consonants before the vowel) and rime (vowel and the remainder of the word). This is a phonemic awareness activity in phoneme segmentation. There is a hidden reveal feature to display the word if desired. This activity was designed for a minilesson or guided practice activity.
Note that this activity is one of three posted to the Literacy with Promethean store. This particular version is of medium challenge, meaning that the CVC words may contain digraphs and/or include more than one consonant in the rime. Refer to the store for the other two versions, also titled, "Segmenting Onset and Rime in CVC words."
A complete lesson plan is embedded in the flipchart.
