PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Welcome to Projectable Lessons from The Writing Diner! Help your students to become active thinkers while they are independently writing. This lesson is all about accountability and helping students develop as thinkers while writing. Students are given a prompt and are asked to use all of the craft elements they have learned so far in their piece of writing. They will need to have a strong lead, concentrate on their senses, and think about similes while writing. They will need to include details, such as snapshots and thoughtshots, as well as have a strong ending for their writing. A sample piece of writing is included in this lesson as a model for students to understand how important it is to think about craft elements while writing. This lesson can be used as a writing assessment. The lesson is connected to the book, The Writing Diner, by Tim Hargis.
